Barnsley have been drawn with League Two clubs Fleetwood Town and Oldham Athletic in their EFL Trophy group for the 2026/27 season.
They will be joined by an under 21s side which will be drawn on Thursday along with the League One fixtures and EFL Cup first round.
The trophy is due to start on the week commencing September 21.
Meanwhile, the Reds are due back in pre-season training from tomorrow.
