Barnsley people aged over 60 will learn how to deal with dangers like rogue traders at a 'real-life' safety event on Friday (July 19).

The Get Lifewise event is at the Lifewise Centre, Hellaby, Rotherham, in an interactive learning centre with a purpose-built set. Those taking part encounter all kinds of scenarios such as fire safety and crime prevention.

The centre is used to educate visitors about safety and citizenship with the ultimate aim of reducing crime and improving quality of life.

This session has been specifically targeted for people in Barnsley, to make them feel safer and healthier and enable them to deal with any difficult situations they may encounter.
