A pensioner put more than 60 pairs of knickers on display in a bid to raise money for the charity which tried to save her son's life.
Marlene Wood came up with the unusual idea of a 'knickers tombola' for Silkstone Church summer fair.
Some of the funds from the event will be donated to Yorkshire Air Ambulance after the charity tried in vain to save Marlene's son Simon, 39, who became trapped under machinery at the family's farm in May 2009.
"There was quite a lot about it (in the news) at the time," said Marlene. "The air ambulance came and I felt as though I wanted to give a bit back.
"For rural areas, the air ambulance is needed."
Marlene, 70, who will host the fair at her Eastfield Farm home, on Eastfield Lane, Thurgoland, said the underwear idea was an attempt to add a bit of novelty to proceedings.
"I was fed up of all these tombolas with all these bits of rubbish.
"So far I've had 63 pairs donated. There're a variety, some are quite brief, some are quite large, some are children's, and we've got lots of different colours."
