A BARNSLEY man has hit the right note by winning the Joey Blowers’ pub star competition.
David Saxon, 35 of Chapel Place, Ardsley, returned from Blackpool this weekend victorious after winning the singing competition where he scooped a pub star trophy and £1,000 in prize money.
He was such a hit with the audience they cheered him on right through to the final.
At the final David had to sing two songs, The Fratelli’s Chelsea Dagger, which he performed at the first heat, and the classic Great Balls of Fire by Jerry-Lee Lewis.
David says he had a lot of support from family and friends who went to Blackpool to cheer him on.
