A MUGGER hit a man over the head with a piece of wood before stealing the victim's mobile phone.
The 20-year-old reveller was walking home from a night in Barnsley when another man asked for directions.
He walked with him for a while until he was attacked near St Thomas's church, Bank End Road.
The attacker was white, 5ft 6ins, blond and of medium build. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. Police think he headed towards Kendray after the attack at about 3am on Sunday, December 31.
