BARNSLEY window manufacturer Building Products Solutions is investing £280,000 to expand its premises and create seven new jobs.
Building Product Solutions will extend its Goldthorpe premises by 3,500 sq ft to house a new glass plant.
The investment will allow the business to develop its own sealed unit production plant where it is able to cut sheet glass to size and manufacture its own glazed window components in-house.
A spokesman for the company said the expansion will cut costs by 20 per cent and help reduce turnaround time.
Ian Harrison, managing director, said: "After a challenging few years in manufacturing we're now experiencing an upturn in the market and this investment will ensure we're in the perfect position to capitalise on the growing confidence."
The firm achieved a turnover of £2 million in the year up to May 2014 –trebling its turnover in five years of trading.
It now has £7.5 million worth of jobs on its books after winning long-term contracts to supply major housing developers such as Taylor Wimpey, Gleeson, Persimmon and Redrow Homes.
