VOLUNTEER Tom Glenn encourages people to donate food so others do not go hungry.

Tom, of Legacy Church, Barnsley, helps to ensure that no one goes without by collecting donations in his storage unit at Legacy Church, Cheapside, which are then handed over to the foodbank at Gateway Church.

He was nominated for a Proud of Barnsley award  by his friend Benjamin Hampshire for 'dedicating his life to serving others.'

Tom used to spend every Saturday spending his hard earned money to get to Sheffield and Barnsley to distribute food parcels made off his own back.

Benjamin said: "I cannot emphasise how much of a sacrificial life Tom leads. In every situation he is always upbeat and determined to see the positive to bless other people.

"Tom adores this town and more importantly the people in it.

"Never would he take for himself - his default is set to elevate others."
