DRAG performers, a disco and a psychic have all helped a Wombwell pub raise more than £3,000 for charity.

The George pub, Wombwell, held a charity weekend last week to raise money for leukaemia and lymphoma research.

The current total amount raised is £3,011.06, not including the money raised by town centre tattoo parlour Set In Stone which has also been doing charity tattoos.

Landlady Sarah Hunt said: "We were hoping to just beat last year's total of £1,000, so to triple that amount is just amazing."

Sarah said the next upcoming charity event is a sponsored bike ride being carried out by a group of pub regulars next month. They plan to cycle to and back from Cleethorpes in a day.
