BARNSLEY museums staff are asking the public to choose Barnsley's greatest treasure from across its museums and galleries.

The 100 pieces from have been photographed and one will be posted on the council's website every day, starting on Monday.

Coun Roy Miller said: "Some pieces will be instantly recognisable to visitors of Cannon Hall, Elsecar Heritage Centre, Experience Barnsley, Cooper Gallery, Barnsley Archives and Worsbrough Mill but there are also a few more unusual artefacts to watch out for."

After the 100th item has been revealed there will two weeks to vote on the winner.
