A DISTRICT boozer has been named Pub Of The Season by Barnsley’s Campaign for Real Ale.
The Market Hotel, Elsecar was given the award in recognition of its simple, unspoilt layout and range of real ales. Its cosy function rooms and enclosed garden were given special praise.
A CAMRA judge said: “The award goes to a very traditional multi-roomed inn just inside our branch boundary, luckily for us. The Market came up trumps for serving an excellently conditioned range of real ales.”
