CREATIVE kids can help reverse a decline in hedgehog numbers by designing a Valentine's card featuring the prickly creatures.
Community project Hogwatch hopes to ensure the future of the animals and has launched 'Love Hedgehogs'.
After judging, children are encouraged to send their cards to someone they think could take action to reverse the decline of hedgehog populations.
Hogwatch member Rachel Gibbons said: "We are hoping that local children will get creative and inspire others to love hedgehogs. We are expecting artistic cards, cute cards and funny cards - and a few surprises too.
"We think children will come up with some great ways to ask people to look after hedgehogs."
The cards should be folded with a design on the front, a message inside and name, age and phone/email on the back. There will be prizes for different ages, best picture, most persuasive message and best overall design.
