ELSECAR-based freight firm Cooperson Transport is in the process of being sold as a going concern to a haulage firm in Doncaster - hopefully saving the jobs of nine workers.

The Wath Road family business, established for more than 18 years, was trading through a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) since last year, but on January 26 this year administrators were called in.

The administrators have made the decision to sell the company, which now has nine workers after four were made redundant.

The administrators are Catherine Lee-Baggaley and Ian Rose of insolvency firm Silke and Co in Doncaster. They were brought in following a petition from HM Revenue & Customs to wind up Cooperson Transport.
