MORE than £30,000 will be spent on improving West Haigh Wood in Grimethorpe.
The cash - from the Forestry Commission and section 106 money - will be used to protect and enhance the woodland.
A council report says: "The parks team are looking to organise a woodland thinning scheme which will enhance the natural environment of the woodland whilst increasing accessibility for the local community."
The hope is that the work will stop unauthorised vehicle access through the woods.
