A NEW operator is needed to run Birdwell post office after the present postmaster 'expressed interest in leaving.'
The Post Office this week did not rule out that the Birdwell office might have to relocate.
A spokeswoman said: "Customers should be assured that we are committed to maintaining a service to local customers. If this change involves relocating the post office it would be subject to a full public consultation. We will work hard to minimise any inconvenience to our customers during the transition."
