THIEVES have made off with two sets of goalposts from Houghton Main Football Club - leaving the new under eights' side without nets.
The club's groundsman went up to do some mowing on the pitch in Middlecliffe on Saturday and found the 6ft x 12ft goalposts missing from where they were stored alongside a garage.
Kris, a police officer from Darfield, said there was a committee meeting yesterday to talk about what to do.
"The kids, who train every Friday, will keep playing, but we will just have to put cones down or something," he said.
