PROUD gardener Mavis Winfield has been left devastated after her garden was ravaged by a fire which spread from a neighbour's garden.
But neighbourly spirit is alive and well in Ardsley and people are already rallying around to help clear up the mess and repair the damage.
Firefighters spent hours tackling the blaze which spread to five gardens in total early on Sunday. The fire service said a fire pit left unattended on wooden decking in a garden on Alexandra Terrace started the blaze.
