ALMOST 100 hundred years of service from one family ended when Chronicle sub editor Clive Gill retired last week.
Clive joined the paper in 1960 as a proof reader and went on to work on almost every stage of production, he moved into the sub-editors' office 11 years ago.
His dad Roy began work for the Chronicle's advertising department in the 20s when its offices were based on Peel Square. He clocked up 50 years with the company and for the last 20 he was its advertising manager .
Clive, 63, of Hoyland Common was presented with an Ashley Jackson print to mark the end of his 47 year career.
