DARTS ace Brian ‘Doggy’ Dawson says he got his love for the game in the kitchen of his mum and dad’s house in Thurnscoe Ð now he feels he can become world champion in the new year.

Brian, 47, of Whinside Crescent, heads to the televised BDO Darts World Championships at the Lakeside in January with the confidence he can become considered the best in the world.

His start in the game began many years ago at his parents Bill and Jean’s house.

Brian, a courier by trade, made it to the quarter finals last year after sneaking into the tournament as a last ditch qualifier.
