A HOUSEBUILDING firm has stepped in to help Wortley Dragons rugby club with £600 towards their winter training costs.

The money will be used to help make sure the club can use floodlit all weather facilities through the season where training would be difficult elsewhere.

Thomas Cuddy, secretary and player the club said: “The day-to-day costs of running a rugby club doesn’t come cheap and securing training facilities that has floodlights and an all-weather pitch isn’t something that we could provide for our players without support.

“Thanks to Taylor Wimpey, we will be in a better position to train throughout the year, which will stand us in great stead to push for a promotion this year, and help secure a steady flow of new players to keep the club growing.”

Wortley Dragons ARLFC currently features a single side with 30 players ranging from ages 18 to 50.
