THE family of a little girl with a life threatening rare form of cancer have spoken of the shock and heartache of her diagnosis - and the amazing response from their community.
Aalish Naylor's parents Martin and Jo were told just a few weeks ago that their six-year-old had neuroblastoma, a cancer of the nerve cells which fewer than 100 children in the UK are diagnosed with each year.
But as soon as neighbours in Hawthorne Crescent, Dodworth, heard the news they rallied round, surrounding the family with love and support.
Neighbours Andy and Laura Cutler immediately decided they would organise fundraising to help long-distance lorry driver Martin and travel agent Jo cope financially with the gruelling long course of chemotherapy treatments and lengthy hospital stays that Aalish needs.
