COME Sunday, Dave Allemby hopes to have completed his 42nd Ð and last Ð marathon.
Dave, a produce worker at Tesco Stairfoot, is running the Manchester Marathon to raise money for Diabetes UK and the British Heart Foundation.
At 59, Dave is something of a veteran when it comes to marathons but he says he’s not really looking forward to his latest challenge.
He said: “In my prime I would run four or five marathons a year.
“But at my age I struggle and I have to confess the last one I ran was four years ago.”
