SCHOOLS and community groups across Barnsley can now apply for free trees.

The Woodland Trust, the largest woodland conservation charity in the country, has already delivered more than 8,000 trees to be planted by people of all ages and backgrounds, in a variety of places all over this region.

Now they want to give even more away in Barnsley.

Beccy Speight, of the Woodland Trust, said the next batch of free trees will bring the rewarding taste of nature to many.
