BARNSLEY Carers’ Garden is looking bloomin’ marvellous again having been rejuvenated after a spell of vandalism.

Mindless yobs trashed the garden at the Metrodome in March and destroyed a poly tunnel worth an estimated £800.

The Chronicle reported the vandalism at the time, and the story was seen by Deborah Wood, director of Premier Poly tunnels who got in touch to offer their help.

“We spoke to Bev Slater from the Barnsley Volunteering Befriending Service and arranged for our construction team to head over to Barnsley to fit a new poly tunnel cover for the carers’ garden, and to replace the damaged polythene panels in the doors,” she said.
