A WOMAN who believes her horses were deliberately doped in order to be stolen is warning other owners to be vigilant.

Donna Shields received a phone call last Thursday morning to say her two horses and her Shetland pony had escaped from the field where they are kept - at the back of B and Q at Stairfoot.

They hadn’t gone far - across fields towards the Tesco store on Wombwell Lane - and she managed to round them up.

But when Donna, of New Lodge, returned them to the field alarm bells started to ring as she noticed part of the fencing which keeps them secure had been vandalised and cut away.
