THE deadline is looming for entries to Proud of Barnsley.

If you know someone who goes above and beyond for our town, they you need to nominate them - fast!

The closing date for entries is the second week in September.

Many of the nominees don’t believe what they do is worth of an award, but we believe different.

There are thousands of people who go out of their way to make our town a better place to live and work.

There are 14 categories: Young Superstar, School of the Year, Children’s Champion, Carer of the Year, Start-up of the Year, Community Group, Hospital Hero, Community Hero, Triumph Over Adversity, Sporting Achievement, Love Where You Live, Charity Fundraiser, Volunteer of the Year and Exceptional Achievement.

This year there is an additional category - The Charity Fundraising Team.

Entries are now open, and there are a couple of ways to submit nominations.
