Pole vaulter Luke Cutts won a fourth successive British Indoor Championship gold medal in Sheffield on Sunday.

The Thurnscoe man, who turned 29 the following day, cleared 5.43 metres to retain the title.

Cutts did not manage to clear the qualifying distance for the European Indoor Championships next month, which is 5.78m. But he will have another chance to reach the event in Serbia if he competes again this weekend.

The Dearne ALC athlete is the British record holder and a former Commonwealth Games silver medalist, who competed at the Rio Olympics last year.
