LISA Mitchell wanted to be a fashion designer ever since she used to help her mum sew patches onto her dad's mining overalls.
Now she is one step closer to realising her dream after reaching the final of Yorkshire Fashion Idol.
Her designs will be professionally made and shown on the catwalk at the competition which takes place at the Great Yorkshire Show in July.
Lisa, 21, of Redbrook, a student at Huddersfield University, used Yorkshire tweed to make the clothes and says her inspiration comes from the Peak District and mining industry.
Prizes include a professional modelling shoot, a place at a prestigious textiles business school in Huddersfield and £500.
She said: "I am really excited. It is such an achievement because so many people entered. It is my dream to run my own clothes design and manufacturing business. If I win it would mean I'm a big step closer to achieving that."
