ONLINE tickets for a spectacular walk-through art experience that arrives in Barnsley town centre next week are already sold out.
The impressive ‘Luminarium’ will arrive at Market Gate car park on Thursday to be explored by the public until Sunday.
With demand to attend the event high, visitors are being advised that although some tickets will be on sale on the day, due to its popularity delays are expected and entry is not guaranteed.
Designed to generate a feeling of wonder at the beauty of light and colour, the ‘Luminarium’, created by UK based Architects of Air, is a treat for the senses.
Special plastic allows sunlight to pass through the installation, creating vibrant colour which responds to the changing atmosphere outside.
Coun Roy Miller, Cabinet spokesman said: "We are delighted that the Luminarium is arriving to Barnsley.
"Although online tickets have sold out, there will still be opportunity to buy limited tickets on the day. There will be lots to do in the town centre over the weekend, keep your eyes peeled for a large inflatable spider that will be making a special appearance.
"With discounts available in some shops and a family fun day to mark the opening of Experience Barnsley and the Cooper Gallery's Egypt exhibitions, it will be a fun filled weekend in Barnsley."
