TWO singing students have had their talents recognised at a national awards ceremony.
Laura Kelly, of Carlton Lane, and Lauren Jackson both study at Barnsley College and won gold medals in the UK Skills competition for students.
Lauren had entered the advanced musical theatre section and Laura the advanced singer-songwriter competition. Both contests were held in the summer.
Lauren, of Pogmoor Lane, also performed at last week's medal ceremony, held in Manchester.
The girls were presented with their gongs by David Grant, the vocal coach who appears on BBC's Fame Academy.
