A COUNCILLOR has called for area forums to be scrapped and condemned them as "boring" after four people turned up to the last Hoyland meeting.
Coun Trevor Naylor slammed the forum system after Monday's meeting saw the lowest turnout in the area since last April.
Three council officers and two police representatives attended the meeting at Jump Primary School to make presentations, to discover that they outnumbered the members of the public who came to watch.
Coun N aylor said: "I'm absolutely appalled. They're becoming surgeries, and it's only if there's something contentious being discussed that people turn up."
More than 100 were present at the forum in April during the campaign to save the number 72 bus.
Coun Naylor added: "We're just holding meetings for holding meetings' sake."
