CHILDREN from a nursery were left feeling more blue than green when they were told their recycling broke council rules.

Youngsters from Chatterbox Nursery, Birdwell, wanted to help the environment by collecting glass, cans and other waste to take to a recycling point.

But staff were horrified to learn they had been encouraging the five to 11-year-olds to break the rules by taking business waste off the premises without a licence.
