A BUDDING Barnsley Rock star is on a mission to bring original live music back to the local club scene.
Jon Stanhope, 30, of Beaumont Avenue, drinks and plays football at Kingstone Club, which he says has seen numbers plummet.
He said: "A lot of these clubs are empty on a Friday and Saturday night, but they usually have big rooms with a decent set up and big stages. There's so many bands out there who could be performing and it's upsetting me a bit to be honest."
Jon is organising a band night at Kingstone on March 7 and hopes if it is a success to put on similar nights at other clubs.
