A PARADE through the village will kick off this year's Darton carnival - and it promises to be even bigger and better than before.

On Saturday, July 5 at Longfields, there will be a fire engine, dry stone walling exhibition, fancy dress activities and an army assault course to keep people entertained.

There will also be performances by the majorettes, sea cadets, Irish dancers and a few local bands. Other attractions include a dog show, fun fair rides, beer tents and a wide variety of stalls.

It has been organised by the Friends of Darton Park, and chairman Rod Parkinson told the Chronicle there is still room for a few more stalls if anyone is interested.
