MORE than 1,500 non-teaching staff in schools will be exposed to cuts in their pay and conditions, the Chronicle has learned.
They are among 9,079 council workers across schools who will be affected by the proposals.
Schools' staff were told they would not face the cuts but the council has changed tack after receiving legal advice. It means they face a fiver per cent pay cut or a two-hour reduction in their working week.
will be affected, but staff in schools were originally told they would not face the cuts.
The council has now changed tact after receiving legal advice.
It means school staff face having their pay reduced by five per cent or take a two-hour reduction in their working week.
They will also lose any sick pay for the first three days of sickness, and receive no incremental pay rises for four years.
