Pupils at Dearne ALC interviewed a former Olympian and an organiser of the London 2012 Olympics this week.
The GCSE PE students, who went to school during their holiday to meet them, also spoke to other pupils in Newham, London, via a webcam.The event took place as part of a drive to get children across the country involved in the Olympics.
Charles Allen, of the London Organising Committee, and former judo Olympian Steve Gawthorpe, of Darfield, spoke with the pupils about what it was like to be involved.
Pupil Arron Smith, 16, said he had enjoyed the day. He asked Steve about his training regime before the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics he took part in and what the atmosphere was like. Arron said: "It is good to get key people here to talk to about the games. "I play football and think it could inspire people to get involved with sport more."
