A teenager suffered a fractured skull and five other people were injured when two cars were in a head-on smash.
A 19-year-old who was a passenger in one of the vehicles suffered a broken jaw and fractured skull. He is being kept in Barnsley Hospital.
His injuries occurred when a white Renault Megane, travelling from Stairfoot on Ardsley Road, and a blue Ford Focus travelling on East Street towards Stairfoot crashed on a bend near the junction with Bank End Road. The collision occurred at 10.30pm on Monday, October 24.
The occupants of the Renault, including the seriously injured man, were from Cudworth.
The Renault driver, a man, 18, suffered knee, arm and head injuries and another passenger, a boy, 16, suffered whiplash and minor cuts to the face. Both were treated at hospital.
A man, 34, of Stairfoot, was driving the Ford. He and a girl passenger, 16, suffered whiplash. Another passenger, 15, of Manor, Sheffield, had pain in her legs and neck following the smash. All three were treated at Barnsley Hospital.
