A NINTH straight loss left Barnsley Woolley Miners staring down the barrel of relegation going into the final two games of the season.
The Shaw Laners are bottom, 18 points behind the three next lowest sides, with two to go down.
With 12 points available for a win, they need to beat top four sides Wakefield Thornes and Whitley Hall while hoping two of the three teams above do not win again. If they lose at Wakefield on Saturday, they are definitely down while they could even be relegated with a win. They were bowled out for 140 at home to Tickhill, with captain Boeta Beukes scoring 50.
Tickhill were 103 for one when rain stopped played in the 21st over but well ahead of the required run-rate.
Cawthorne were bowled out for 103 in a 76-run home loss to Whitley Hall. Mustafa Shinwari took four wickets.
Wath ended an 11-game losing run but were still relegated from the Championship. They posted 168, with Lachlan Jacobs making 74, then Matty Bowering took three wickets as Treeton were six runs behind the required run-rate when rain stopped play.
Elsecar lost by six wickets at Sheffield Collegiate 2nd XI.
Arsalan Mir made 59.
Gareth Kilburn took seven wickets as Higham won at Caribbean Sports in Division Three.
Brad Gledhill took the other three wickets then made 62 not out.
Third-bottom Higham are still in the relegation zone but closed the gap to fourth-bottom Caribbean to ten points with a game in hand.
Worsbrough Bridge avoided the rain by bowling Bradfield out for 60 in an eight-wicket win. Liam Levitt took four wickets and Liam Hague three.
Wath 2nd XI removed Treeton 2nd XI for 70 in a five-wicket win.
Darfield won at home to Barnsley Woolley Miners 2nd XI in Division One. Number seven Jordan Watson hit 73 off 48 balls with seven sixes for Darfield who are six points off the top two with two games left.
Ollie Chapman-Stott took four wickets for Barnsley.
Houghton Main lost at Coal Aston and Monk Bretton at Warmsworth.
Wombwell Main were all out for 105 in a nine-wicket loss at Thorncliffe and Wentworth in Division Four.
Cawthorne 2nd XI removed Elsecar 2nd XI for 91 in a nine-wicket Division Two win. Buck Rees-McClure took four wickets.
Penistone 2nd XI defended 141 by removing Hallam 3rd XI for 53 in Division Five. They were 32 for six before Marcus Hoyland made 53 not out and Paul Dalton 51 not out.
Hoyland and Mitchell Duty took four wickets each.
Higham 2nd XI won at home to Rockingham 3rd XI in Division Seven.
James Lawson carried his bat with 65 not out with Billy Allen adding 51 in Higham’s 196.
Rock were bowled out for 84 with Joe Green taking four wickets.
Wombwell Main 2nd XI chased 148 for a nine-wicket home win over Thorncliffe and Wentworth 2nd XI in Division Eight. Aam Wallace made 52.
Dearne won by eight wickets at Monk Bretton 2nd XI thanks to Luke Rankin (87) and Ben Whitehouse (59 not out). Thomas Glover made 59 for the hosts.
Elsecar 3rd XI beat Worsbrough Bridge 2nd XI by eight wickets in Division Nine. James Bottomley made 72 in Worsbrough’s 152.
