A LOCAL ghost hunter believes she may have the most haunted house in Barnsley - and it’s filled with more than 100 ‘supernatural’ dolls including one dubbed the ‘most foul-mouthed’ in the world.

Linzi Steer has been interested in the paranormal for decades and has garnered more than 100,000 followers on her social media channels.

Her audience has led her to TV appearances and she’s well known across the world.

And she reckons she might have the most haunted house in Barnsley.

But it’s not hidden away in the fields - it’s on Wombwell High Street.

She told the Chronicle: “Myself and Janette McGrane are paranormal investigators.

“The property dates back to 1880 and is above the RSPCA shop on Wombwell High Street.

“It was an old house that needed a lot of work and I renovated it back to being a Victorian house.

“Inside there you’ve got two rooms full of the spookiest things that you can imagine.

“There’s definitely spirits in there.

“We’ve had people come from all over to come and look at it.”

Linzi’s work has seen her featured on Sky and ITV’s This Morning - all in aid of trying to find the strangest paranormal occurrences in the UK.

And it’s fair to say that Barnsley has its fair share of spooky goings-on.

She has previously spent the night around Convicts’ Tunnel - also in Wombwell.

Supposedly, the tunnel was used in the 19th century to transport convicts to prison - this was meant to be a spot where they could rest during their travels.

But her travels have taken her across the world, not just to Wombwell.

And during that time Linzi has picked up a lot of haunted items - from paintings to dolls.

And she’s brought many of them back to Barnsley.

She said: “There’s probably about 160 dolls in the house, from all around the world.

“I’ve been doing it for years.

“I’ve got loads of stories about the place.

“In there is one doll that’s been called the most foul-mouthed doll in the world.

“Whenever it’s in there with us a word that rhymes with banker and starts with a ‘W’ is always coming out.

“She’s also said the ‘C’ word and the ‘S’ word.”

Linzi regularly goes on ghost hunts and live streams then on TikTok where hundreds of people watch each time.

But part of her mission is trying to get people to realise that the paranormal isn’t all that scary.

She said: “It’s just a fantastic place.

“We’re planning to do some open days during the half-term for locals to come and have a look around.

“People are really scared when they hear the words paranormal and spirits but there’s no reason to be.

“We’re wanting to try and change that.”
