BARNSLEY Women’s FC continued their positive start to the season with a 4-0 success at home to Kidderminster Harriers on Sunday.
Jodie Michalska scored twice with Ocean Rolandsen and Jemima Jarvis also on target.
The Reds are third in the National League North Midlands having won four of five games.
They are three points off the top two who have both won all their games.
The league winner after 22 games will be promoted with second going into the play-offs.
Manager Craig Richardson said: “It was a mixed bag. We knew Kidderminster could make it a scrap and the first half was. We made changes at half-time and changed the shape then applied ourselves much better. We’ve kept three consecutive clean sheets.”
Barnsley are now due to host Hull City at Houghton Main FC on Sunday in a cup tie. They have been drawn at home to Mancunian Unity FC in the FA Cup on October 5.
Barnsley Ladies won 4-2 at Penistone Church in Division Two of the Sheffield and Hallamshire League. Lily Holt, Hannah Ross and Ruby Whelan scored.
Dearne and District lost 4-1 at home to Rossington Main. Fixtures: Dearne and District v Socrates; Wombwell Town v Rotherham Town.
