More than thirty homes will benefit from free flood warnings in Broomhill.
The Environment Agency has added more than 1,400 homes and businesses in Yorkshire to its warning scheme since the heavy rains that led to flooding in many areas this month.
In Broomhill 33 homes along the River Dearne in Broomhill have been added. Householders can be sent alerts to landlines, mobile phones, or email addresses.
Residents are automatically informed by the Environment Agency when flooding is possible and receive a warning when flooding is expected and a severe flood warning where there is a danger to life.
Addresses are automatically registered to the scheme, which residents can choose to opt out of.
