WORTLEY RUFC won 34-31 at Hallamshire in Yorkshire Division Four.
George Peacock, Mike Lynch, Jonny Loveday, Dan Higgins and Dom O’Connor a scored tries while player of the match Luke Jagger kicked three conversions and a penalty.
O’Connor’s try with a run from the halfway line secured the win.
It was a first away win of the season for Wortley who have won three and lost three so far, leaving them fifth out of eight with 11 points. They are now due to visit Stocksbridge on Saturday.
Barnsley Ladies lost 33-17 at Bury St Edmonds in Championship One North.
The Shaw Laners are eighth out of ten with one win and five defeats from six games. They are due to play pointless bottom club Blaydon Red Kites in their next game on November 15.
Barnsley’s men are back in action on Saturday when they visit Leeds Corinthians in Yorkshire Division Three.
The Shaw Laners have won their last two games, leaving them seventh, but have not played since October 18.
Dearne Valley pulled out of their game at Bramley Phoenix in the Yorkshire Silver Trophy. They are now due to visit Castleford in Yorkshire Division Three, in which they are bottom on minus one points, eight off safety.
Wath were given a home walkover win in the Yorkshire Shield by Bridlington.
They are now due to visit Goole in Yorkshire Division One in which they are currently second.
