A BARNSLEY salon has won a series of coveted awards.
Stella’s Hair and Beauty Salon, located on Pogmoor Road, has won both regional and national awards for their commitment to the sector.
The salon scored the ‘Best Hair and Beauty Salon in South Yorkshire’ award - later scooping the national win at England’s Business Awards 2025.
Owner Ann Smith was contemplating attending the Birmingham-based ceremony but her mother - also named Ann - was taken ill.
Now, Ann is using the motivation from her exceptional win to give back to the community.
After her mother found herself unable to watch her beloved ‘I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!’ whilst in hospital - Ann is seeking to donate more televisions to the hospital.
Prioritising physical items over cash donations, Ann is encouraging locals to re-gift their old televisions to make an ill person’s day.
She said: “When my mum was in the hospital I didn’t know if I was going to go.
“When she was ill she really wanted to watch ‘I’m a Celebrity’, but they didn’t have enough TVs.
“Now that we’ve won, I really want to donate TVs to Barnsley Hospital’s intensive care unit.
“I’d rather have actual TVs than money, we’re going to take them in for patients at the hospital.”
