THE number of babies born at Barnsley Hospital over the latest 12-month period has dropped.
The latest maternity data from NHS England shows there were around 2,735 babies delivered at Barnsley Hospital in the year to March.
This was a seven per cent decrease on the 2,930 a year before, and a slight fall from 2,755 over the last decade.
All recent figures are rounded to the nearest five.
The data also shows 46 per cent of deliveries in Barnsley Hospital were caesareans, and 25 per cent were emergency Caesareans.
These figures were 22 per cent and 14 per cent in 2015 respectively.
