A RANGE of improvements to support community safety in the Old Town ward have been completed.
Through the Love Where You Live programme, the area has seen new fencing installed on Brierfield Close to create a self-contained green space for residents to enjoy and to prevent antisocial parking.
The council has also removed a hedge at the corner Honeywell Close to combat antisocial behaviour.
Coun Wendy Cain, cabinet spokesperson for public health and communities, said: “Love Where You Live is all about investing in our communities and boosting everyone’s pride in calling Barnsley our home.
“Projects like this improve community safety and make our streets more attractive and welcoming.
“We’re proud to be bringing forward projects across Barnsley to enhance our neighbourhoods and I hope people living in the Old Town ward will welcome the results.”
