Barnsley have sold top-scorer Davis Keillor-Dunn to Championship club Wrexham.
The 28-year-old joined in August 2024 from Mansfield Town and has 35 goals in 78 appearances, including 16 this season.
The fee is not known for sure but some reports claim it is more than £2million.
Keillor-Dunn signed off for Barnsley with a brace in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Stevenage.
He will now return to Wrexham where he had a brief spell in 2020 when they were a non-league side before three consecutive promotions. They are currently in contention for a fourth promotion in four years to the Premier League.
Head coach Conor Hourihane told the club website: “Davis has been a fantastic player for us since the moment he arrived. His goals, energy and determination have made a lasting impact, and although we’re disappointed to lose a player of his quality, we recognise the opportunity this move presents for him.
“On behalf of everyone at the club, I want to thank him for his commitment, professionalism and the moments he delivered in a Barnsley shirt. We wish him all the very best for his return to Wrexham.”
