THIS is the scandalous tale of a British politician who has been mired in allegations of corruption that have made him fabulously wealthy. And when his legacy is examined, (which I’m about to do) you will also discover he’s also linked with putting the private medical data of everyone in our town, and our nation, at risk.
Lord Peter Mandleson, whom they say can never be robbed of his grand title, has been caught out in flagrante, many times. However, for years he’s managed to miraculously avoid detection and its ramifications. Is it a charmed life he leads or, like Jeffrey Epstein, does he ‘know too much’?
In the 1980s Mandleson was called the ‘Prince of Darkness’ by some colleagues because of the way he steered Labour leaders, Kinnock and Blair, towards Thatcherite policies. He was never a convincing leader but saw himself as a behind-the-scenes king-maker.
In 1996, MP Peter Mandleson cried poverty to his multi-millionaire friend, Geoffrey Robinson, pleading to borrow £373,000 (equal to about £800k today) to buy a house in Notting Hill. This interest-free loan went ahead but no-one knows what Robinson got out of the deal. However, we do know that Mandleson failed to declare the loan in the Register of Members’ Interests, and also failed to declare a conflict of interest in his subsequent enquiry into Robinson’s ‘dodgy’ business deals.
Robinson, a shady character, embarrassed the Labour Party by keeping millions of pounds in off-shore bank accounts and for having extremely strong links to the disgraced tycoon, Robert Maxwell. When Mandleson’s own government department (DTI) was told to investigate Maxwell for the embezzlement of pension funds, he, again, failed to declare a conflict of interest.
In the late 1990s, Mandleson used his ministerial position to reportedly urge Prime Minister Tony Blair to go ahead with the Horizon IT system at the Post Office. That decision led to the wrongful conviction of thousands of innocent subpostmasters. Many went to prison but 13 employees couldn’t cope with the shame and committed suicide.
In 2001, Mandleson was forced to resign his position in the Labour government, for a second time, when it was alleged he’d helped a wealthy Indian businessman, Srichand Hinduja, to fast-track British citizenship. Hinduja just happened to be a major donor to Mandleson’s struggling pet project, the Millenium Dome.
Between 2003 and 2004, Mandleson and his husband received significant amounts of money as ‘gifts’ from the financier, Jeffrey Epstein. Later, even after Epstein’s conviction for paedophilia, Mandleson wrote to him describing him as his “best pal” and that he “thought the world of him”.
Peter Mandleson is currently being investigated by the Met Police for passing on highly sensitive UK government information to Jeffrey Epstein between 2008 and 2010.
Then, in 2010, Mandleson founded a political lobbying company called Global Counsel. Its clients include Shell, Palantir (a US spytech company) and the UK private water companies. In their quest for business favours, Mandleson fixed up meetings with ministers and senior government officials.
Palantir is particularly concerning. It’s described by the Private Eye journal as ‘sinister’. Palantir was created by the vastly rich American venture capitalist, Peter Thiel. He is the man who bankrolled Donald Trump on his path to the White House.
He also happens to have been a very close business associate of – wait for it – the late Jeffrey Epstein. So there you have it: Trump, Epstein, Thiel and Mandleson – all birds of a feather.
Therefore, I urge you to Google Palantir’s record, including its role in assisting the far right Zionist regime in the Middle East with their mass killing in Gaza. And also examine the role it still plays in assisting Trump’s notoriously violent security force – the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Palantir are now very keen to gain access the NHS medical records of every single person in the UK. It claims it wants to make communications within the NHS more efficient but, honestly, would you trust, with your personal medical records, a private company that is linked to Trump, Epstein, Mandleson and Thiel?
It would be like knowingly putting a bunch of gangsters in charge of the Bank of England.
There has to be better and safer alternatives.
Thus, pressure must be applied to our government and to every hospital trust in the country, so that no deal is done with this band of unscrupulous racketeers.
