ABID Ali is the only man to score a century on his debut in Test and One Day International cricket and is now set to play for Hoylandswaine in the Huddersfield Premier League.
The 38-year-old batter played 16 Test Matches and six ODIs, between 2019 and 2021. He joins a Swaine side looking to defend their league title, having made history last season by scoring 592 which is the biggest ever total in an ECB Premier League match.
Ben Kohler-Cadmore is the new captain while former England man Samit Patel returns for a second season.
They have re-signed former players Chris Holliday, Adnan Ghani and Usman Arshad as well as bringing in fast bowler Kamran Basharat, leg-spinner Adil Ali and wicketkeeper batter Liam Hyde. Departures include Harpreet Singh, Mick Finan, Nadeem Hussain, Shabir Rashid and Umar Yaqoob.
They have been linked in the national press with England star Liam Livingstone but that has been denied by the players’ representatives and sources at Hoylandswaine.
