A WILTHORPE woman is gearing up to take on the Barnsley 10K later this month.
Amber Whittingham, 29, will take part in the annual event alongside 2,000 others on June 28.
The race route will pass through Barnsley town centre, Wilthorpe and Redbrook, before looping back around at the Claycliffe Road area.
Amber said: “I’m running in aid of Barnsley Hospital, in particular its Rainbow Room, which is used for bereaved parents to spend time with their babies.
“Any support people can give is very much appreciated.”
A hospital charity spokesperson added: “The Rainbow Room was created to provide a peaceful, comforting and private space for parents and families during some of the most difficult moments imaginable, the loss of their baby.
“Work is being undertaken to develop the room into a suite and charity funds raised over and above NHS provision will help us provide those extra touches that make a real difference to family wellbeing and comfort.
“Thank you for helping us make the new suite a truly special place for families who need it most.”
