TWO Barnsley police officers have been praised for their commitment to victim care.
PC Ben Walshaw and PC Robert Reeve responded to reports of an racially aggravated assault in April.
They have now received a good work minute award for their care.
Following their response, the victim said: “I would like to give positive feedback for both Ben and Robert.
“Both officers came into our home with the utmost dignity and respect, they listened to our concerns, offered their support and advice into how this issue can be resolved.
“We opted to ask them to speak to the suspects in order to peacefully resolve this issue.
“Both officers reassured both myself and my partner and as promised they kept us in the loop with everything.
“Both myself and my partner are really happy with the way this issue has been handled and how the officers have dealt with this issue swiftly and professionally.
“I would like both officers to be recognised for their excellent service and given a reward for their way of handling my issue in the most dignified and respectful manner.”
