WOMBWELL Town will be looking to bounce back immediately after their relegation from the Premier Division last season.

They won the Division One play-offs last season but then finished bottom, not winning in 31 league games after September.

Jason Dodsworth is assistant to Karl Rose but took some time away from the club last season for personal reasons.

He said: “It was tough to watch but it was just one of those seasons. A lot of the players moved on which wasn’t nice to see.

“That happens in football sometimes.

“It’s a tough league and you have got to be at it every week.

“Sometimes you have to take a step back to go forward. The club still hasn’t been going for a long time.

“The aim is promotion. Karl is ambitious and dedicated.

Wombwell’s star striker Jordan Kershaw has moved to Dearne and District.

“Jordan has gone unfortunately. We didn’t want him to but players come and go.
